| Michael Brown, 41, a resident of the Altgeld Garden housing project on the South side of Chicago, stands by a wall commemorating residents who have been killed as a result of violence. Later, names of victims of alleged toxic waste in the neighborhood were added. Toxic waste dumping in minority areas is an ongoing issue with local activists.
